Dear Touchstone Families,
It’s hard to believe, but November is here! It was so fun to see everyone in their costumes yesterday during the Halloween parade and parties! What a fun way to end the month of October.
This month we have several important events. I encourage you to check the calendar below to make sure you don’t miss anything.
Tomorrow is our Fall Picture Day. Lifetouch will start taking pictures around 8:30am. Each student will have their picture taken during the morning. If your child is not scheduled for tomorrow, but you would like to get their picture taken, please feel free to come in sometime during the morning and we would be happy to squeeze them in.
The PTO invites you to join us for dinner at Sweet Tomato on Cardinal Lane this Thursday, November 3. A portion of the proceeds will go directly to the Touchstone PTO. This will be a fun event for students to have dinner with their friends and some of the staff all while helping the school! Make sure to mention Touchstone School at checkout! The event is from 2pm to 9pm.
Parent Teacher Conferences will be held on Monday, November 7. If you have not signed up for a time slot already, you may do so on your student’s classroom door. This is a great time to talk with your child’s teacher and to set up goals for the school year. As a reminder, there is no school on this day.
Each year, Touchstone Preschool partners with Touchstone Elementary to have a fun evening called Boogie Night. This year, Boogie Night will be on Friday, November 18 from 6:30pm to 8:00pm at the Lake Oswego Jr. High. I invite you all to come and dance the night away!
As we are entering flu season, I would like to remind everyone of Touchstone’s sick policy. If you child has thrown up, has diarrhea, or has a fever over 100 they must be home for 24 hours with no symptoms before returning to school. This policy is in place to keep the students, staff, and families healthy. We all appreciate your understanding and follow through.
Thank you,
Gordon Kingsley; Principal

With cooler weather and Thanksgiving right around the corner, many of us will be spending more time in the kitchen. Use this time to invite your child to join you in the meal-making experience. As he is exposed to new foods and food preparation, he will begin to feel more[.....]
