Dear Touchstone Families,

During the month of February, Touchstone has several fun events planned including our annual Helping Hearts, Pennies for Patients, and Arts Festival. Please make sure to check the calendar below to not miss any of the events.

Each February, Touchstone School takes part in a Helping Hearts campaign as a way to focus on positive ways our students help out! Students will be coming home with a heart and more information. Your job is to help find a random act of kindness your child has taken part in and write it on the heart and return it to school with their teacher. The hearts will be collected all month long and displayed on the bulletin board in the entryway for everyone to see how Touchstone students help out. We love to fill up the board, so the more hearts you bring in the better! This lets us celebrate the many acts of kindness our students take part in every day.

This month, we are also partnering with Pennies for Patients; an organization that raises money for students with leukemia. Each classroom will be collecting change all month long, and we will tally up our school’s grand total at the end of the month. As an incentive, each classroom that raises at least $75 will receive a popsicle party to celebrate giving back to those in need. Thank you for your help as we give back to the community.

Thursday, February 11 from 6:30pm to 7:45pm is the Touchstone Arts Festival. You and your family are all invited to join us in the Lake Oswego High School auditorium, as we view student artwork and watch a performance from each of the classrooms. Please mark your calendars and save the date.

I am happy to announce Soccer Shots will be starting again on Tuesday, February 16. There are also still spots available for Happy Feet in Motion dance classes on Thursdays. If you are interested in either of these after school activities, please see Glenda at the front desk.
