Dear Touchstone Families,
June is here and we are finding it hard to believe this is the last couple of weeks of the school year! The students have grown so much over this year and as we say goodbye to our students heading off to Kindergarten we look forward to welcoming all of our returning and new families over the summer and in the fall.
As the summer weather has started to arrive we would like to send a reminder about sunscreen and appropriate clothing at school. We apply sunscreen on the students after rest time so they are safe and ready to go for afternoon outside time. We ask that you please drop your child off with sunscreen already applied so they are ready to go for morning outdoor fun. When bringing in sunscreen, per licensing regulations, please make sure to not bring in anything aerosol and make sure you have filled out a sunscreen form with the front desk. Also, we ask that you do not send your children to school in flip flops or open toed sandals as they are not safe for them to be running around on our playground or in gym.
On the last day of school (June 13th) we ask that you please take ALL of your child’s belongings home with you even if they are staying for camp (clothes, jackets, boots, nap items). This is a great time to change out clothing that is too small or geared to colder weather. You may bring it all back on the first day of camp. Please be sure to have them labeled with your child’s name. We will also be putting in our main hallway all of the lost and found items laid out for you to look over. The evening of the last day of school any items left will be bagged up and donated to a local shelter.
We have many families who will be continuing with us during the summer for our camp. There are several weekly themed activities planned to keep the students engaged in educational fun. If you have not already signed up for summer camp we are currently on a wait list for all weeks. As a reminder we need a full two weeks of notice for any cancellations or changes.
As the school year winds down we want to say thank you to the staff, the students, and the families for all working together to make this school year a great success. It has been filled with laughter, growth, and learning. We enjoy each day we get to spend with the students and our wonderful Touchstone families!
Thank you!
