Dear Touchstone Families,
It’s hard to believe, but November is here, this year is going by quickly! It was so fun to see everyone in their costumes today during the Halloween parade and parties! What a fun way to end the month of October.
This month we have several important events. I encourage you to check the calendar below to make sure you don’t miss anything.
November 1st is our pajama drive kick off at all three Touchstone Preschools. Please bring in as many new PJ’s with tags to donate to area foster kids in need. On Thursday, November 8th the whole school will be having a PJ day. Bring in a pair to donate and wear a pair to school! The donation box will be in the front lobby. Please help us support children in our community!
Parent-Teacher Conferences will be held on Friday, November 9th. If you have not signed up for a time slot already, you may do so on your student’s classroom door. This is a great time to talk with your child’s teacher and to set goals for the school year. It is preferred that your child does not attend, but we understand if you need to bring them. Please be on time for your appointment. As a reminder, there is no school or camp on this day.
This year we are planning on a fun dress up day for the Oregon Civil War Game! On Wednesday November 21st wear your Ducks or Beaver gear to school (or other college team you root for!). The class with the most kids dressed up will win a fun surprise!
As we are entering flu season, I would like to remind everyone of Touchstone’s sick policy. If your child has thrown up, has diarrhea, or has a fever of 100 or higher they must be home for a minimum of 24 hours with no symptoms before returning to school. This policy is in place to keep the students, staff, and families healthy. If your child comes down with a fever at school, we ask that you pick them up as quickly as possible. Please review your parent handbook for more in depth information. We all appreciate your understanding and follow through.
With the weather changing, this is a great time to double check your child’s cubby for their extra clothes. Please be sure they are season appropriate. Also don’t forget to send a jacket as we do go outside, sometimes early and it is chilly!
As a reminder we are a nut free school- this includes all types of nuts and nut products, not just peanuts. Please do not send these items to school with your child.
Thank you,
Elise West; Principal
