Dear Touchstone Families,
I hope everyone had a wonderful Spring Break! Here at Touchstone we spent the week learning about plants, bugs, and putting together our new school garden. Students worked hard to set up planters and add flowers and herbs to our garden. We will be continuing to add to the space throughout the spring and summer to create an outdoor learning area for the students.
I am pleased to announce that we are rapidly growing and just opened our second infant classroom. With the opening of another classroom comes many new faces in the form of students, parents, and staff. Please join me in welcoming these new additions to our Touchstone Community.
Spring Picture Day is just around the corner and will take place on Friday, April 13. Forms will be available beginning on Monday, April 9 for you to fill out with your desired background. The photographers from Lifetouch will be taking both individual and class pictures on this day. Sibling pictures can also be taken. If your child is not scheduled for Friday, you are still welcome to come and get their picture taken. Pictures will be taken between 8:00am and 11:00am with class pictures starting at 9:30am.
Earth Day is this month and here at Touchstone on Friday, April 20 by hosting a Garden Grand Opening with a ladybug release. Students are encouraged to dress up in red and black to help celebrate the event. The event will be taking place in the Touchstone Garden at 10:00am and families are also invited to attend. We will be releasing ladybugs into the garden after reading a story as a school outside.
Many families have asked about Summer Camp for our Intermediate and PreK families. I am pleased to announce that the theme for this summer is “On Our Way” and we have 10 amazing weeks of fun and adventures planned. Registration materials will be made available towards the end of the month. Please look for them in your Parent File soon.
I hope you all have a wonderful April and enjoy some sun as our weather is changing!
Thank you,
Gordon Kingsley; Principal
