A Note From Our Principal
We hope that you all had a wonderful and safe Thanksgiving. As the winter holidays approach, we are eagerly looking forward to all of the special activities that we have planned for our students and are very much looking forward to enjoying the season with them. I have enclosed several important winter and holiday reminders in this newsletter. Please read through it carefully and reach out if you have any questions or concerns.
Inclement Weather Closure Reminder
As a reminder, we do not always follow the closure schedule of the Hillsboro or Beaverton school districts. Our goal is to be open as many days as possible to support our working parents. If we must close for any reason, you will receive a notification via Links 2 Home as soon as the closure is announced. We also post notifications on our website.
Winter Clothing Reminder
If you’ve not already done so, please check in with your child’s teacher to ensure that they have an extra set of weather appropriate clothes. Students also need to come to school each day with a jacket and dressed warmly enough to play outside. We want everyone to be able to participate!
Holiday Closures
We will be closed December 24th and 25th for Christmas and December 31st and January 1st for New Year’s.
All Bundled Up for Winter Camp
We will be holding winter camp for our intermediate through school age classes December 21-23 and December 28-30. Students will participate in all kinds of winter themed activities. We will also have a Frozen dress up day and a Hot Cocoa Party! Students may attend all or part of Winter Camp. Please let us know by December 4th if you would like to sign up for Winter Camp.
Family Traditions
During the month of December, many of our teachers like to highlight all of the different holidays celebrated around the world. We know that our school community is so diverse and want to celebrate that! Please share any holidays and traditions that you celebrate with your family, even if you think it is something that many families celebrate. We love to hear the children share all of their traditions. We also encourage our parents to team with their classroom teacher to set up a time to virtually teach their child’s class about their traditions.
Love Our School? Review Us!
In today’s connected world, many families turn to online reviews to learn more about the reputation of schools. Just a reminder that you can find our school on Facebook, Google, Yelp, and other online directories. We’d love more families like yours. so please consider spreading the word about our school.
