A Note From Our Principal
We hope that you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving with loved ones. As the winter holidays approach, we have many special events planned for our students and families and look forward to spending time with you all. We’ve enclosed important winter and holiday procedure reminders in this newsletter. Please read it carefully and reach out if you have any questions or concerns.
Inclement Weather Reminders
We do not always follow the closure schedule of the local public schools because we don’t have to contend with the same transportation issues as public schools. Our goal is to be open as many days as possible to support our working parents. If we must close because our teachers cannot safely get to work, you will receive a notification via Links 2 Home as soon as the closure is announced. We also post notifications on our website and Facebook page.
Winter Clothing Reminder
If you’ve not already done so, please check your child’s cubby to ensure they have an extra set of weather appropriate clothes. Students also need to come to school each day with a jacket and dressed warm enough to play outside for part of the day. If the weather is brisk, we will still go outside for active games and SPARK activities and want everyone to be able to participate!
Holiday Closures
Our school is closed on December 24th and 25th for Christmas and December 31st and January 1st for the New Year.
Winter Break Camp
We will be holding winter break camp from December 23rd to January 3rd. Our theme this year is Polar Bear Express! We will have lots of fun wintery activities for the children who attend. Sign- up sheets for the intermediates and pre-k classes were passed out and are due back by December 6th, so that we can plan appropriately.
Pajama & Book Drive
As you may already know, we are collecting pajamas and books for the Biggest Bed Time story until December 6th. The donations will go to local children in need. If you would like to donate, you can place new pajamas and books in the box at the front desk. We will all wear our pajamas on Friday to celebrate all of our donations. Thank you in advance!
Important Dates
December 6- Pajama Day & Deadline for Winter Camp Sign-up sheets
December 9 to 18- Scholastic Book Fair
December 23- Silly Sweater Day
December 23 to January 3- Winter Camp
