Dear Touchstone Families,
I hope everyone had a wonderful Spring Break! I hope you were able to spend some time with your family making memories! Spring Break here at Touchstone was a lot of fun and students loved making their spring projects and doing fun science experiments!
Earth Day is this month and here at Touchstone we love to take care of our Earth! On Monday, April 22nd we are encouraging all of our students to wear green to school (or red/ladybugs if they don’t have green). We will be doing a school wide lady bug release to help our garden and surrounding plants grow and be healthy. I will also be reading a special recycling book to each of the classes and they will have either a fun ladybug or recycling themed project planned in their class!
On Saturday May 4th, we will be having a garden work day from 10:30-12:30 (Weather Depending). This is for families who are interested in coming to the school to help clean up and prep the garden for planting! Please RSVP towards the end of the month on Ms. Madeline’s door if you plan on attending! We ask that you park in the back lot, or on SW Varns street as we will need the front lot open for our open house guests that day. We are also looking for garden donations (tools, seeds, plants, soil, pea gravel, fencing etc.) for any families who are interested. Please see Ms. Madeline for what is needed.
This month we start enrollment for our Summer Camp Program. Forms should be out by end of day on the 1st. The theme this summer is “Connect to Summer” and we have 10 fun themed weeks planned and several fun events! While camp is exciting there is still academics and learning happening during class time but in a fun camp atmosphere! As a reminder summer camp is a week by week camp so you only sign up for the weeks you will attend. It is a first come first served basis. Once we distribute our camp forms, it is best to turn them in as soon as possible as space is limited and new enrollments are welcomed to enroll for camp 2 weeks after we open it for our current families. Your child is eligible for camp if they attended school with us this school year or if you have a sibling that is age eligible and enrolled for the fall! I hope you all have a wonderful April and enjoy some sun as our weather is changing!
Thank you,
Elise West; Principal
