Dear Touchstone Families,
We are officially in the full swing of school as November is coming up quickly. There are several exciting things happening at Touchstone School this month that we hope you can take part in.
To help celebrate Halloween, we invite all students to wear their costume and take part in our annual Halloween Costume Parade. Students will be marching from class to class showing off their costumes. The parade will begin at 10:00am on Wednesday, October 31. Parents and relatives are invited to participate as well. Many of the classrooms are also having a classroom party. Please see your child’s teacher for specifics.
Parent/Teacher Conferences are held twice each year. This is a great way for teachers and parents to connect and to set up goals for each student as well as celebrate successes. Our first Parent/Teacher Conferences will be help on Friday, November 9. You are invited to sign up for a specific time slot which will be located on the door of each classroom. Please note that there is no school on this day so that teachers can focus on conversations with parents.
On Thursday, November 15 you are invited to attend our Fall Family Fun Night! This is a great time to meet other families, make memories with your child, and take part in many fun games and activities. This event will be from 5:00pm to 7:00pm. Look for your invitation in the mail!
In keeping with the theme of Thanksgiving and giving back to our community, Touchstone School will be holding a Pajama Drive during the month of November. All month long we will be collecting new pajamas for all ages. We will end our celebration of giving back with a Pajama Party on Friday, November 30 where students will be encouraged to wear their favorite pair of pajamas and bring in a pair to donate to someone in need.
It is hard to believe, but with the holiday season quickly approaching, it is time to start thinking about our upcoming Winter Camp. Winter Camp this year will take place over the last week in December and the first week in January. We are finalizing our registration and have it out for you shortly. Once the registration is available, we will be happy to answer questions and assist as needed.
As we are entering flu season, I would like to remind everyone of Touchstone’s sick policy. If your child has thrown up, has diarrhea, or has a fever of 100 or higher they must be home for a minimum of 24 hours with no symptoms before returning to school. This policy is in place to keep the students, staff, and families healthy. If your child comes down with a fever at school, we ask that you pick them up as quickly as possible. Please review your parent handbook for more in-depth information. We all appreciate your understanding and follow through.
Thank you,
Gordon Kingsley; Principal
