Dear Touchstone Families,
As the year comes to a close, I would like to thank you all for making Touchstone such a wonderful place. When we first opened our doors in July, we had only 6 students start with us, and now we are serving over 50 families and have several starting with us come the first of the year. It has been an honor to work with you all as we navigate the journey of opening up a new school. I look forward to our continued growth and working with you all!
Now that we are in the middle of winter and the weather is changing, I would like to remind everyone of our Inclement Weather Policy at Touchstone School. Although we take other school districts into consideration, we do not necessarily follow Hillsboro or Beaverton School Districts for school closures.
Inclement weather may occasionally make it necessary to cancel or delay school. Should this occur, any changes in the schedule will be announced on the school website and you will receive an email informing you of any delays or closures. These communications will be completed by 6:00 a.m. on the affected school day.
If severe weather conditions or other emergencies occur during the school day that require us to close early, parents will be called to pick up their children before the designated closing time. As always, the safety of our students and their families is our highest priority. If local weather conditions make you feel uncomfortable driving, please keep your child home from school.
I hope everyone has a fun filled and safe Holiday Season. Please take time to enjoy moments together, partake in family traditions, and celebrate one another.
Thank you,
Gordon Kingsley; Principal

The holiday season is a time when we celebrate community, diversity, and the universal joy of giving. In the classroom, we introduce children to holiday traditions observed around the world by singing songs, making art, and tasting favorite local seasonal foods, as well as those from other countries.
