Dear Touchstone Families,
We are officially in the summer swing here at Touchstone School. Campers are busy having adventures with their Mini Mysteries. So far students have participated in weeks involving Mysteries at the Museum, and Move It! Mix It! Mess It! Do It! They have had a lot of fun!
Over the month of July, the themes for Summer Camp will include Storybook Summer where we will be having a special visit from a Police officer along with his K-9 partner! Other weeks include Treasure Hunters, Color Me Happy, and Mysterious Mixtures which includes a wacky magician visit! Also, because of staffing and vacations this summer, most of our weeks are now on a waitlist. We are in the process of hiring new staff and when this occurs more spots will open. If you are unsure what you have signed up for, please see myself or Glenda. As a reminder, we do need a two week notice for any cancellations, additions or schedule changes.
We have been having nice warm summer weather so please make sure you are sending your child to school with sunscreen applied. Teachers will reapply sunscreen after nap time before the students go outside for recess. If you have not done so, please fill out a sunscreen form with Glenda at the front desk. We also limit the time students have at outside recess in the afternoon when it is hot so they are not overexposed to the sun. To help keeps students cool we will be periodically having water play days that we will post notices about ahead of time in the school. Please keep an eye out for these notices!
I would also like to take this time to remind families to please drive all the way around Fir Loop to get to our driveway. We have noticed families driving the wrong way or cutting through the parking lots of other businesses to get to ours. We have had several complaints from those businesses, and we would like to stay on good terms with them as they are very supportive of our school. Thank you for your understanding in this matter.
Have a great summer,
Elise West; Principal

While traveling with your preschooler, you’ve probably heard him say, “Are we there yet?” or “How much longer?” more times than you can count. Being stuck in the car or on a flight might not seem like the most stimulating activity, but it is possible to engage your child’s mind and[.....]
