Dear Touchstone Parents,
I want to start off my thanking everyone who attended our Celebration of Art event. It was great to see the students and families come together as a community to showcase the wonderful learning and hard work the students put into each of their projects. We had such a great turnout for this fun event!
We will be kicking off May with two different celebrations; Teacher Appreciation Week and Mother’s Day. The teachers truly make Touchstone the wonderful school that it is for all of our students. I would like to thank each of the teachers and staff for their hard work and dedication to the students and families. The PTO has organized some special thank you treats to celebrate their hard work. This year you will also find “Thank You Card” flower pots each with a teachers or staff name on it. Feel free to drop off a special thank you, card or gift-card in their flower pots during the week! If you would like to celebrate their hard work in your own way, you are welcome to do so, but not required.
Our Mother’s Day Celebration is on Tuesday May 9, from 6-7pm in your child’s classroom. Each class is planning their own special way to celebrate their moms or other important person in their life. We hope you can make this wonderful event!
Parent/Teacher conferences will be held during the day on Friday, May 26. During this time you will have a chance to meet with your child’s teacher to discuss successes from the year and set up goals for next year. Please look for a sign-up sheet on the classroom doors as we get closer to the conference date. There will be no school or camp on conference day.
I am happy to announce that starting in the second week of May; Touchstone School will be going live with our new digital parent sign in/sign out. This new program is replacing the sign in/out book currently by Glenda’s desk. The admin team will be reaching out to set up pin codes for all people authorized for pick up. Please stay tuned for more information.
Just a friendly reminder to please make sure you driving slowly and paying attention while in the parking lot. While I know many of you are in a hurry during drop off/pick up, I please ask that you refrain from using your phones and paying extra attention to your surroundings. In addition, please make sure you are supervising your child in the parking lot, as it is often hard for drivers to see some of the younger students. Thank you all for your cooperation in working together in this matter to help keep everyone safe.
Thank you,
Gordon Kingsley; Principal
