Nobel Learning Communities, Inc., recently named its Principals and Teachers of the Year at the organization’s annual principal conference in Las Vegas. Nobel Learning Communities’ Principal and Teacher of the Year program recognize principals and teachers who standout by demonstrating a strong commitment to inspire, motivate and educate students and staff alike.
The winners are:
- Preschool Principals of the Year: Fernanda Landa from Bethesda Country Day School in Bethesda, Md. Landa was recognized for inspiring and motivating both students and staff, and creating a positive learning environment for students. Before becoming principal at Bethesda Country Day School, she served as principal of Chesterbrook Academy for seven years.
- K12 Principal of the Year: Tom Heinly from The Honor Roll School in Sugar Land, Texas. Heinly was honored for his success in creating a culture of positive change focused on open and honest communication with all faculty, students and parents within his first year as principal at The Honor Roll School. He joined The Honor Roll School with 18 years of experience in public education at both the middle and elementary school levels.
- Preschool Teacher of the Year: Margot Klingenmeier from Southern Highlands Preparatory Preschool in Las Vegas, Nev. Klingenmeier was recognized for consistently creating innovative and engaging activities to present new concepts to her students. She utilizes her years of experience, musical propensity and learning outcomes to promote learning to young children in a fun and appealing way.
- K12 Teacher of the Year: Jo Schloss from Camelback Desert School in Scottsdale, Ariz. Schloss was honored for her superb creativity, dedication and expertise in teaching a quality art curriculum. Schloss instills her love for art among her students through lessons and projects that teach form, technique and color. Her work with students in the classroom has resulted in the regular display of their art within Camelback Desert School’s art studio, classroom and Artsonia, an online gallery for children’s artwork.
