December News
Dear Touchstone Families,
It is hard to believe, but tomorrow welcomes in the month of December. As we start this last month of the year, we celebrate many achievements from November. Our PreK classrooms rose over $200 and 15 boxes of food to support the Union Gospel Mission, the Intermediate classroom explored the Native American Culture through legends and folktales, and our Beginner and Blend classrooms have been busy learning and growing in the classroom.
This month we are participating in a Pajama Drive with our Elementary School in Lake Oswego and our sister school in Beaverton. On Friday, December 11, we will have a school wide pajama party to raise pajamas for Northwest Children’s Outreach Programs. During the pajama party, students are encouraged to wear their favorite set of pajamas to school and bring in a new set of pajamas to give to a child in need. We will be collecting the pajamas from December 11 through December 18. There will be a collection box at the front desk.
Winter Camp is quickly approaching. Glenda has distributed Winter Camp sign up forms in each parent folder and there are some extra copies on the parent folder shelf if you need another copy. If you are interested in Winter Camp, please make sure you have filled one out and given a copy to Glenda by Thursday, December 3. This allows us to know how many students we have so we may staff accordingly.
There is no holiday performance this year. We were unable to secure a location we felt was convenient, but we will be putting on an Arts Show in February. Students will be performing a song, as well as showcasing student artwork.
As the temperatures drop, please make sure you are providing your child with the appropriate clothing. It is important to bring items such as a warm jacket, hat, scarf, and gloves. Please feel free to leave a set in your child’s cubby so they can always be prepared. We strive to take the students outside as much as possible to get fresh air and appreciate your cooperation.
Thank you,
Gordon Kingsley; Principal
