July News

Dear Touchstone Parents,

We are officially in the summer swing here at Touchstone School. Students are busy having fun with their Passport to Adventure. So far students have participated in weeks involving Camp Out, Under the Sea Adventures, and Road Trip USA! We started out the month of July by having a Bike Parade. Each student brought in their bike or scooter and decorated with red, white, and blue streamers. The whole school then had an Independence Day Parade around our loop! Over the month of July, the themes for Summer Camp will include Arctic Chill, Superheros, Rain Forest, and Nature Explorers. We have several fun activities coming up such as snow cone making, a magician, soccer camp, and a field trip to a nature park!

As we have been having unusually hot weather, please make sure you are sending your child to school with sunscreen applied. Teachers will reapply sunscreen after nap time before the students go outside for recess. If you have not done so, please fill out a Sunscreen Form with Glenda at the front desk. We also limit the time students have at outside recess in the afternoon so they are not overexposed to the sun. While we do provide water in the classroom and outside at recess, if you would like to bring a water bottle for your child, please make sure you have your child’s name on it.

I am pleased to announce Teacher Kathi has officially started with us! She has over 15 years of experience working with young children. Teacher Kathi will be working in the Beginner Classroom. Please join me in welcoming her to the Touchstone Community.

Thank you,

Gordon Kingsley, Principal
