Nobel Learning Communities, Inc., recently named its Principals and Teachers of the Year at the organization’s annual principal conference in Las Vegas. Nobel Learning Communities’ Principal and Teacher of the Year program recognizes principals and teachers who standout by demonstrating a strong commitment to inspire, motivate and educate students and staff alike.
The winners are:
- Preschool Principal of the Year – Ami Satterfied from Evergreen Academy in Issaquah, Wash. Satterfield served as a private school educator and certified Montessori teacher for more than 15 years before joining Evergreen Academy in Kirkland in 2009. In 2012, Satterfield was promoted to be the first principal of the new Evergreen Academy in Issaquah. She always goes above and beyond to communicate with parents and makes the school feel like a true community of enrichment.
- Elementary School Principal of the Year – Denise Ondrof from Merryhill Elementary and Middle School in Sacramento, Calif. Ondrof joined Merryhill School in 2007 as a West Coast director of education and became principal of Merryhill School at the Park City, Calif., location in 2009. In 2013, Ondrof became principal of the new Merryhill School in Midtown Sacramento. She worked closely with Nobel Learning Communities to open the Midtown campus and helped lead the building, renovation, enrollment and curriculum development. Her school currently has more than 380 students.
- Preschool Teacher of the Year – Jackie Ruiz from Discovery Isle Development Center in Temecula, Calif. Ruiz has been an educator for 14 years and has worked at Discovery Isle since 2006. She was recognized for her dedication to making learning fun and inspiring her students.
- Elementary School Teacher of the Year – Maggie Constantino from Chesterbrook Academy in Oaks, Pa. Constantino began her career at Chesterbrook Academy in 2009 and is currently the technology teacher for all elementary school students. She was recognized for her extensive knowledge of technology curriculum, as well as her dedication to providing quality education.
